Our practice is involved in training medical students, student nurses, and GP speciality trainees. With your consent and under the supervision of your doctor or nurse, medical students may join your consultation. This is an important part of their learning, helping them become skilled doctors and understand patients’ experiences.
GP speciality trainees are fully qualified doctors who have completed hospital training and are now training to become general practitioners. They may conduct your consultation as part of their ongoing development.
We will always ask for your permission before allowing a student doctor or nurse to be present. It is completely understandable if you prefer to see your doctor or nurse alone.
Sometimes, your doctor may ask you to record your consultation for teaching purposes. If so, you will be informed ahead of time and asked for your written consent. You are under no obligation to agree to this.
We truly appreciate your support in helping the next generation of healthcare professionals learn. If you have any questions about our teaching role, please speak with your doctor or the practice manager.
